Allie Bangura

Born to Sierra Leonean immigrants and raised in Germany, I was the first in my family to pursue higher education. I hold a Master’s in International Business and Politics from Queen Mary University of London and a certificate in Venture Financing from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.

With a professional background in international banking, finance, emerging economies, impact asset management, relationship management, business development, and fundraising, I turned my personal experiences as a young student facing limited support networks into a mission to empower others.

"When I started ADAN 11 years ago, I simply wanted to build a community for ambitious people of African descent to come together, empower one another, and inspire each other to achieve more... What I did not expect was that this passion would turn into my profession."

Building Community: ADAN e.V.

In 2014, I founded ADAN e.V. (Afro-German Academic Network), now one of the largest non-profit organizations for Afro-Diasporan, Africans, and Africa-interested individuals in the D-A-CH region—with over 750 members across multiple cities in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

The network creates inclusive spaces for students, professionals, and academics to connect, exchange ideas, advance careers, and promote nuanced images of Africa and the Afro-diasporic community.

Driving Impact: ADAN Careers

In 2022, I co-founded ADAN Impact GmbH, the for-profit arm that powers ADAN Careers—Europe’s leading career platform and largest career fair dedicated to Black professionals and People of Color (BPoC).

Through strategic DE&I (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) initiatives, recruitment marketing, exclusive events, and partnerships with global corporates, we help organizations attract and retain diverse talent while empowering the BPoC community to thrive.

Global Leadership & Advisory

My work bridges continents and communities, focusing on inclusive leadership, Africa-Europe collaboration, and turning idealism into pragmatic impact.

As a recent Fellow in the inaugural Adinkra Fellowship for Global Black Leaders, I continue advising corporates on diversity programs and supporting ventures in Sub-Saharan Africa.
